MANN+HUMMEL-Industrial Complex, Uhersky Brod
Uhersky Brod, Czech Republic
Client: MANN HUMMEL Innenraumfilter GmbH (CZ) s.r.o.
Project Duration: 2021 – 2025 |
The extension of the MANN+HUMMEL production facility in Uhersky Brod (Phase II) represents more than just a technically demanding construction project. It is an undertaking that unites sustainability, high-quality working environments, and sophisticated industrial architecture – values that exceed conventional industrial construction standards.
The architectural concept for this facility extension, incorporating new administrative premises, gatehouse, and car park, builds upon the original production complex from 2014 – not only visually but also in the spirit of collaborative partnership.

Key Project Data
- Design Development Phase (Extension): 7/2021–2022
- Construction Phase: 6/2023–12/2024
- Car Park (Design/Construction): 2024–2025
- Original Production Hall Area: 4,780 m² (Phase I – 2014)
- New Production Hall Area: 3,450 m² – capacity increase of approximately 70% of original production floor area (Phase II – 2024)
- Administrative Building Area (3 floors): 965 m²
- Car Park Capacity: 65 new parking spaces (Phase III – 2025)

Project Highlights
- Industrial architecture with human-scale proportions
- Building Design: Aluminium façade systems in various configurations – cassette panels, profiled sheeting, composite sandwich panels
- Kopilit: Glass profile system with industrial heritage – combining aesthetics with functionality (natural lighting, thermal comfort)
- Canopy Structure: Self-supporting design creating water curtain effect during rainfall
- Enhanced Security Focus: New gatehouse facility separating heavy goods vehicle circulation from pedestrian traffic
- Construction execution without operational interruption, requiring sensitive coordination of construction activities and site logistics

Energy Concept and Sustainability
- Comprehensive energy system modernisation – implementation of high-efficiency air-to-air and air-to-water heat pump systems as primary heating and cooling sources
- Energy Independence – disconnection from gas supply network in accordance with European decarbonisation trends
- Advanced heat recovery systems from mechanical ventilation installations for maximum utilisation of waste heat
- Solar thermal system for domestic hot water heating support
- LED lighting systems throughout all areas for minimised electrical energy consumption
- Water-efficient sanitary installations as part of sustainable water management approach
