Groundbreaking ceremony & Bern.Dorf from an architectural perspective

On 5 October 26, the groundbreaking ceremony took place for the new office development currently under construction (client: Berndorf Immobilien).
A clearly structured, four-storey building using a compact timber construction method is being built here.

The exposed timber structure defines the building’s architectural identity and combines sustainability with contemporary corporate architecture.
Flexible office spaces, an efficient structural system and the building’s distinct positioning within the site create a corporate location that is both prestigious and future-proof.

Thomas Wolf, Head of Design Studio, Delta Pods Architects:
The office building we have designed in Bern.Dorf comprises a ground floor and three upper floors and is accessed via an internal stairwell with two staircases and a passenger lift. Open-plan spaces create visual connections between the levels, promote internal communication and ensure natural lighting in the interior areas. The efficient, transparent spatial structure supports modern working environments and provides a prestigious setting.

The Bern.Dorf project itself has already been recognised as a best practice for land recycling and the redevelopment of industrial brownfield sites by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection, as well as by Kommunalkredit Public Consulting (KPC): Ort.schafft Award! – Bern.Dorf

Many thanks to Berndorf Immobilien AG for their trust, and to all project partners and team members for their dedicated and collaborative work.
