2nd Place in the Competition: New Center for Laboratory Medicine St. Gallen
We are pleased about achieving 2nd place in the implementation competition for the Center for Laboratory Medicine in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
The demand for laboratory medical services is increasing as a consequence of demographic developments in Switzerland. In close proximity to the Cantonal Hospital St. Gallen, a new laboratory center is therefore set to be built.
Our design (ARGE Dietrich Untertrifaller, Stäheli Architekten AG, Delta Pods Architects) deliberately focuses on a clear urban positioning as well as a hybrid construction method and modular façade structure, which facilitate future vertical extensions and adaptations. The circulation areas are compactly arranged in the end sections of the building, ensuring that interconnected uses can be maintained – an essential component of our integrated planning philosophy.
